1857 1d Rose-red Pl.65 (Die II, Alphabet III, Wmk. Large Crown). Envelope sent from Inverary to Edinburgh bearing a 1d Rose-red (SG 40, Pl.65) lettered AE, tied by an Edinburgh ‘131’ numeral. Backstamped Inverary AP.19.1861 and an Edinburgh arrival for the following day. Scarce plate on cover. SG40, Spec. C10(1). Cat £850 as a single used off cover. 1990 BPA Cert.
