Description
1886-1902 2a dull blue unmounted o.g. vertical strip of five, the upper four stamps with SERVICE treble, two albino, and the bottom stamp with SERVICE double, one albino. Third stamp with an unobtrusive crease, otherwise fine. A rare and most interesting se-tenant piece. SG O15a, b, £430+
XXXItalics please - All five stamps have the second impression ½mm above the normal inked impression. The third impression (on the upper four stamps) is seriously misplaced and slightly offset on the reverse, showing reduced spacing between impressions (20½mm rather than 21½mm). From rows 16-20 of a sheet which received a 'test' albino impression after use of the forme on a 6a sheet, whose reduced format required narrower spacing. Very few such se-tenant pieces from any of the Convention States involving different albino varieties are known to usXXX
