Description
1948 (Nov) document, bearing Dungarpur fiscal 1a green & red with Rajasthan opt in violet, and Postage 1939-46 1½a deep violet, Perf 10 (straight edge at foot) UNUSED, with part o.g. The Document was sent to court with instructions by sender to the court clerk, to utilise the attached stamps to send the document back to him. Annotation by the clerk indicates that 3¼a's worth of stamps were used for return postage, with the one surviving 1½a stamp remaining uncancelled on the document, with traces of at least two further stamps alongside. The 1½a stamp with slight faults including a thin, otherwise fine, a very interesting and unusual item of great rarity. SG 13 cat £6500
