1880-81 eight page pamphlet De La Rue, entitled ‘’A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THOS. DE LA RUE & CO'S FUGITIVE AND DOUBLE ADHESIVE STAMP PRINTING INKS'', containing an explanation of the composition of their inks and their purposes and the two appendices; ‘’APPENDIX A/STAMPS IN FUGITIVE' INK'', with an impression of the ‘’BO1'' trial obliteration, one of which has been treated with benzine; ‘’APPENDIX B/STAMPS PRINTED IN ‘’DOUBLY FUGITIVE'' INK'', with three examples of the 1881 1d lilac (16 dots) and 1883 ½d with one of each left intact and one with m/s ‘cancelled’ and then treated with acid and one with the ‘BO1’ obliteration and then treated with benzine respectively, The document folded in half, crossing the intact unused ½d, still a most interesting and rare item.
