1869 (27 Aug) entire from Saigon to Mauritius, via Singapore, endorsed “per Engl. Mail”, franked at 24c by 1867 (1 Sep) 4c on 1a brown (2) and 8c on 2a yellow (2), tied by two strikes of Singapore “D14” duplex and additionally tied by Singapore firm's chop, showing Saigon firm's chop at lower left and Mauritius “1d / TO PAY” h/s alongside, backstamped at Aden (OC 8) and Mauritius (OC 29); a beautiful and very rare franking of exhibition quality. Ex Rowell (CRL 27 May 1993, lot 1054) and Spink Singapore (24 Jun 2000, lot 203).
