1912 (31 OCT) registered cover from Paulington to Germany, franked by 1896-97 Arms 8d (SG 34), 1898-1908 4d olive (SG 82), 1909-12 2½d pale dull blue (SG 103), and 1910-13 3d magenta and ochre (SG 136) and 6d red-brown and crimson (RSC D - with printer's mark at upper left), tied by individual very fine strikes of ‘PAULINGTON / S. RHODESIA’ cds (Proud type D2) with registration label at left, backstamped at London (23 NO) and Remscheid-Reinshagen (24 Nov). A wonderful and famous cover, having graced the front cover of the auction catalogue for the Gunnar Strehmel collection, and attractively presented on an exhibition page.
