1841 1d Red-brown. Very fine printed Great North of England Railway (GNER) circular sent locally within Darlington bearing a three margin 1841 1d Red-brown tied by a Darlington numeral. Used on the first day of the numeral cancellation and backstamped by a Darlington datestamp for MY.1.1844. A wonderful clean and very scarce first day of issue cover for this cancellation. SG8.
