1882 ½d Hand painted essay. Very fine example lettered AB painted in lilac and Chinese white on thin tracing paper, mounted on stout white paper, defaced with a manuscript cross. Thought to be originally part of De La Rue’s Third Scheme. Scarce, unique in private hands. Cat. £8500.
