<p>1948 3a on 3d pale violet vertical pair used, the lower stamp with the variety ‘surcharge albino’, with only faint inked traces visible on the face. &nbsp;Believed to be R19-20/1 from one of the few affected sheets, of which only two pairs survived in used condition; the other pair (ex Donaldson, with only the value unprinted), was offered in the first Academic sale. &nbsp;BPA Certificate (1958), not recognising that this is an albino print; ‘…. the overprint on the lower stamp being only partly printed….’ &nbsp;Ex Rossi. &nbsp;SG 69a, £5000</p>
