Description
1942-4 bantam War Effort mint collection (many hundreds) on leaves, offered almost intact with only the missing roulette pieces removed. A study of the characteristics and varieties of the issues, including the slogans and settings, with everything written up. Of special note - a ½d sheet (Issue 1); 1d doctor blade block; 1½d multiples with single and double roulettes se-tenant, and a block (top two rows) with slogans printed on stamps; 2d apostrophe varieties (4), shifted perforations blocks (seven, various sizes, one with progressive dry print leaving the lower three pairs completely blank), unprinted block of four pairs, paper join block and blurred slogans block of three pairs; 6d block of two pairs with slogans printed on the stamps, and a block of five pairs with a lesser occurrence; 1/- bursting shell block, etc. A very fine collection, obviously assembled by a knowledgeable philatelist.
