Includes James Berry photographic essays (six times stamp size, as requested by the NZ Post Office) for the ½d, a rejected Churchill design for the 2d, and 8d (creased); stamp-sized photographic essays for the 1d (of Lake Matheson, in smaller format than used for the ½d), 4d (in design of 5d), 6d (in design of 4d), 8d (in design of 6d), 2/- (in design of 9d) ; ‘dirty book’ Die proofs of frame and vignette for the ½d, 3d, 4d, 5d, 8d, 9d; other designers' essays for diamond-shaped 1d and triangular 1½d; numerous blocks with flaws and re-entries throughout, a fine display.
