Description
1947-52 King's Head 1/- to 3/- collection (hundreds) on leaves, nearly all mint with many Plate blocks and other positional pieces with numerous plate varieties. We note 1/- Plate 2 watermark inverted; 1/3d block with partial frame offset on two, a pair offset on one, a corner block with diagonal offset on one, Plate 2-1 block R16/2 with large brown flaw and associated smear, and block with two extra diagonal strikes of perforating head in bottom selvedge; 2/- block with pre-printing paper crease, another block with paper fold leaving the perfs between stamps and lower row some 10-13mm below the design (if selvedge reduced, would give a convincing imperf between stamp and margin effect), and a block with substantial green smearing due to faulty wiping; 2/- watermark sideways-inverted Plate block of eight including R13/1; 3/- marginal block showing brown overinking, giving the appearance of toned paper.
