Sale number: 5963 The second sale in the Academic series features a mix of multiples, varieties and some startling rarities. There are a great many specialist items, of interest to the KG VI and single-country collector alike. The lots in these sales represent over forty years of focussed buying in auctions major and minor, and from dealers large and small, including some well-known items that have not been available to the market for decades . The important range of multiples are usually there for a specific reason; imprint or Plate blocks, multiples from identified printings or with varieties, listed and unlisted, with some great rarities such as the Grenada 2½d Plate block, the existence of which will come as a surprise to many. However, there are also plenty of basic stamps and straightforward multiples, reasonably estimated and reserved, to suit all pockets.

1938-54 1/- thirteen Plate number pairs with different numbers, mint, mixed hinged and unmounted. &nbsp;1-1A and 1-1B (these in the original shades, the latter of fine appearance with a strip of paper stuck to the reverse of the selvedge), 1-4A and 4B, 1-5A and 5B, 1-6A and 6B (6B stained on one stamp), 1-7B, all these perf 13 x 11¾; perf 13 x 12½ 1-7A, and clearer impression 1-8A, 2A-10A, 2B-10B. &nbsp;Mostly good with the odd short perf noted, &nbsp;SG 145-ba&nbsp;
