Sale number: 5963 The second sale in the Academic series features a mix of multiples, varieties and some startling rarities. There are a great many specialist items, of interest to the KG VI and single-country collector alike. The lots in these sales represent over forty years of focussed buying in auctions major and minor, and from dealers large and small, including some well-known items that have not been available to the market for decades . The important range of multiples are usually there for a specific reason; imprint or Plate blocks, multiples from identified printings or with varieties, listed and unlisted, with some great rarities such as the Grenada 2½d Plate block, the existence of which will come as a surprise to many. However, there are also plenty of basic stamps and straightforward multiples, reasonably estimated and reserved, to suit all pockets.

1943-52 15c black and red, perf 13¾ x 13¼. &nbsp;Complete unmounted o.g. Plate 2-3B sheet of 100, deep lower selvedge with striking lathework in both colours and reversed number ‘2915-3’. &nbsp;Clearly shows missing ‘A’ of CA in watermark, part on selvedge and part on R1/4, evident from the front of the sheet. &nbsp;This was the discovery example of the error. &nbsp;SG 137a, ab, £1700 (plus £891 for the normal stamps)
