China is represented by classic Large Dragons, Dowagers, Red Revenues and Local Posts, while the People’s Republic section includes the Mei Lan-Fang miniature sheets, the 1967 Poems of Mao set and the 1980 Year of the Monkey stamp. Official. 1937-39 4ch grey-green, perf 12½, complete sheet of 84 (14x6), optd with the late composite setting combining types O8 (18mm high - top row only) and O6 (16mm high - rows 2 to 6), very fine unused. A fascinating and extremely rare item, yielding fourteen vertical se-tenant pairs, with even singles of the type O8 opt in this perforation being virtually unobtainable. SG O69Aa/Ba (cat £3920++)
