POSTAL HISTORY: Odeni manuscript cancel dated 21 NO 1901, used on 1900 1d QV issue on cover to England, back stamped with a Northern Nigeria cds (24 NO 1901) and a Manchester cds (18 DE 1901). a travelled envelope, roughly opened and with address partially highlighted. Odeni had no recorded post office at this time and it is thought that the cancel was used to stop the stamp being removed en route. Probably unique usage
