Description
DISASTER MAIL: 1953 envelope from London to Northern Ireland via Scotland, marked by 2½d meter mark, carried by the ''M.V. Princess Victoria'' which was lost at sea during bad weather, the vessel was flooded and sunk resulting in the lost of over one hundred lives with less than fifty survivors all male. Marked by two lined ''DAMAGED BY SEA WATER'' h/s in violet and 'Salvaged from m.v. Princess Victoria' in m/s, very scarce with only a handful of items known from the eleven mail bags salvaged from the wreck.
