France: 1910 envelope from France to Algiers postmarked Viplair with stamps floated off, carried aboard the ''S.S. General Chanzy'' which struck rock in bad weather off the north-west coast of Minorca, bearing despatch markings and ''NAUFRAGE DU GENERAL CHANZY'' two-line h/s in violet, envelope officially resealed with Marseilles and Algeria Constantine arrival marking, with original contents, very interesting and rare. Lot also includes a colour pictured postcard of the S.S General Chanzy.
