POSTAL HISTORY: 1857 folded letter with Crown Circle “Paid at Barbados” handstamp, addressed to London with manuscript “6” denoting the pre-payment of the 6d rate, double ring Barbados cds on reverse dated 28 FE 1857, interesting contents concerning the organisation of schools; the writer had 4 schools under their care and gives attendance figures etc. Central vertical fold but an attractive cover with a good strike of a scarce Barbados mark, SG CC1
