POSTAL HISTORY: 1899 cover to Edinburgh franked by 1ct green pair, salvaged from the wreck of SS Labrador which ran around off the coast of Scotland, bearing two lined RECOVERED FROM WRECK OF SS LABRADOR h/s in violet, with Liverpool transit mark for MR 15, backstamped by Sorting Tender Edinburgh mark for MR 16, very scarce as only a few of the 153 mail bags were recovered, which also remarkably saw no loss of life!
