1942 Official cover to Rangoon franked by 2ct ½a on 2s bright scarlet strip of three and 3ct on ¾a on 3s green (3), tied by Insein cds with Insein Postage Due h/s at right and taxed at Two Annas. This cover is an example of the confusion resultant from the rapid change in currency instituted by the Japanese, firstly they were surcharged in Annas but within 24 days these stamps were recalled and the face value amended to Cents. Some faults to cover, still an attractive and interesting item. SG J59-J60
