POSTAL HISTORY: 1777-1906 selection of entires, envelopes and postcards, contained in a half carton, including London Penny Post 1777 Dockwra type addressed to Highgate reverse with 'T/FR', 'O'CLOCK/3/T' and boxed 'WATKINS' marks, free frank fronts, 1855 entire letter to France franked by 2d blue Plate 4 perf 16, pair (AC-AD) cancelled by Newcastle-on-Tyne duplex, few later registered envelopes and postcards with 1906 (17 May) franked by no postage stamp but ½d yellow-green interpanneau pillar label. Condition very mixed. An interesting lot. (74)
