HEJAZ: 1916 small envelope addressed to Lt Col Sir Mark Sykes Bart MP, House of Commons, London and then re-addressed to 9 Buckingham Gate, SW franked with 1916 (Oct) 1pi blue, perf 10, cancelled by '17 10 16, DJEDDAH' ds, the reverse with Cairo (3.11) transit; envelope was roughly opened and has been partly reinforced. This envelope was posted by Sir Ronald Storrs during his short visit (3 days) to meet King Hussain and we believe is the fourth earliest recorded envelope but the first to be mailed to England. A most unusual and interesting exhibition item. SG 6
