Sixty-fifth Balloon of the Siege: 1871 entire letter to London, England franked by Napoleon III 40c Empire (overpaying the overseas rate by 10c!) tied by Star mark with Paris Bl. Beaumarchais cds for 23 Jan and London arrival h/s for 27 Jan, carried by the Balloon 'Torricelli' which departed Paris on the 24 Jan, backstamped with London W arrival mark for 27 Jan, fine and attractive, this cover arrived a day before the French surrender.
