Thirty-eighth Balloon of the Siege: 1870 printed Gazette des Absents (edition 12) lettersheet sent to Savigne L' Eveque, franked by Napoleon III 20c Empire neatly struck by red official cds for 2 Dec, carried on the Balloon 'Franklin' which departed Paris on the 5 Dec, backstamped by Savigne L' Eveque arrival mark dated 7 Dec, very fine.
