GB Used in Cyprus. 1879 envelope bearing ½d rose-red vertical pair (severed), the upper stamp affixed over the edge of the envelope, which has been opened out for display. Upper stamp defective and the envelope with edge faults. The stamps with a single indistinct strike of 981 numeral of Paphos, with Papho CDS of NO 3 underneath. Addressed to the Head of Emlak Department at Nicosia, backstamped Limassol, Larnaca and Nicosia. Rare use of this value from a difficult office, ex Spink 9.11.11, realisation £644. SG 44, unpriced in Part 1
