POSTAL HISTORY: 1924 Pair of RAF experimental flight covers: from Cairo to Kano (Nigeria), 26/10/1925 with Kano arrival backstamp 2/11/1925 endorsed “By Special Airmail”. Second cover from Kano to Cairo 11/11/1925 with 10/11/1925 arrival backstamp. Addressed to Australian-born, Sir Arthur Coningham who led this RAF mission 6,500 miles across Africa, and received the Air Force Cross in acknowledgement of this achievement. (2 covers)
