1899 1s "Jubilee" composite essay. Very fine unused example of the 1s green affixed to a small piece of stout white card with the frame overpainted in rose-lilac and Chinese white. Believed to have been produced as a preliminary essay for the 1900 1s bi-coloured issue, the paining in by hand was presumably so painstakingly slow they resorted to producing "paste-up" essays with different head and frame plates. Unrecorded by Wiseman and presently unlisted but to be included in the next Specialised Vol.1 catalogue. Unique. 2012 BPA Cert. Ex. Chartwell & Aureum. SG214var
