1967 British Paintings set of 3 tied to "Stuart" illustrated fdc. (type-written address) by Swindon fdi. cds, the 1s 6d "Children Coming out of School" by Lowry with error gold (Queen's head) omitted (SG 750a), cover with a trace of edge wear and error one fractionally short perf. Although 41 examples were sold, Pierron states that only two unused examples and two used on first day covers have been discovered. Accompanied by a contemporary newspaper cutting from the Swindon Evening Advertiser regarding the discovery of this error by Mr George Brett and a letter to Mr Brett from the GPO confirming that forty-one of the error stamps were sold, with nineteen being withdrawn and destroyed, this cover has been in the hands of the vendor, who was a friend of Mr Brett since the date of issue
