1936 1½d Edward VIII Coronation essays, imperforate set of four depicting the King in the uniform of the Welsh Guards (design type B); printed in green, red, brown and blue on gummed 'E8R' wmkd wove paper mounted onto thin white card, these essays were presented to the Post Office and the Royal Arts Commission on the 7th September 1936. Very attractive and rare, one of only six sets which were released. SG 459var
