1444  1890 (24 JUN) combination usage of India 4a6p orange postal stationery envelope from Srinagar to Kendal, England, additionally franked by J&K 1883-94 ½a orange-red (instead of the usual 1a value), with fine strikes of "KASHMIR" cds. Backstamps of Bombay (JUN 30) and Kendal (JY 23).  Slight cover faults (creases, partly missing flap), still most attractive (address in green ink), and highly unusual, with the ½a deficiency in the state postage either overlooked or a misguided attempt to exercise the visitor's rate privilege.
