1960 5d 100th Melbourne cup die proof sepia on white wove paper mounted in sunken frame, on reverse C.B.A. note printing branch 18.10.60 and numbered '42' (for W.L. Russel, Stamp Advisory Committee); only eleven die proofs were distributed, one for Queen Elizabeth II (for Royal Collection, unnumbered) leaving in private hands only ten possible available, a couple of stain marks nevertheless a rare proof, BW 379DP(1) AU$3,000.
