POSTAL HISTORY: 1910-27 selection of five covers comprising 1910 to England bearing 1d carmine tied by ‘FREETOWN/A/2 AP/10/SIERRA LEONE’ cds, below the scarce ‘KING-TOM BRIDGE/sideways C/AP 2/10/SIERRA LEONE’ cds, 1913 1d carmine postal stationery envelope to Wales tied with scarce ‘BIOA-YONNIE TRAVELLING/POST OFFICE/29 SP 13' cds, 1914 to Switzerland bearing 1d scarlet tied with ‘FREETOWN/SIERRA LEONE/3 DE 14' cds, the reverse bearing G arms R/ Officially sealed.' white label tied by Bern arrival ds, 1923 3d brown registered envelope to Freetown uprated with 2d grey tied with scarce 'BOIA-YONNIE TRAVELLING/POST OFFICE/JY 11 23' cds and ‘TRAVELLING P.O.’ boxed hs and 1927 to USA bearing 1d violet tied by ‘FREETOWN/C/AP7 27/SIERRA LEONE’ cds, underpaid marked ‘T’ and rare ‘40c’ handstamp applied at Freetown, US 3c and 5c precancelled postage dues added to pay US 8c charge.
