E. Whicker, the soldier sending the letter, backstamped 'FPO 13' (5 Sep) & 'SABATHU' arrival (23 Sep) with the adhesive in very fine condition. This cover is a newly discovered rarity and a star item of the British Occupation of Baghdad. Not recorded by Khalastchy (2017), this is just the fourth known cover to India, the third known cover bearing SG 5, and the only known ‘Active Service’ envelope of this type.

c.1973 (30 APR) parcel piece bearing 12f brown-olive, overprinted by ‘Leaf’ ornaments, block of 25 central stamp LEAF OVERPRINT OMITTED, with 8f light brown (S.G. O1147) blocks of 10 and 15, all fine used, tied by 30 APR cds, the year block incorrectly inserted so only ‘7’ is visible. A few peripheral faults, still a spectacular and reportedly unique variety which we have never handled previously. Spectacular in this ideal used format. S.G. O1130ac, listed but unpriced.
