1885 5c on 32c slate Wmk CC, type 21 local surcharge, rejoined VERTICAL PAIR, showing ERROR SURCHARGE INVERTED (the surcharge from pos. 6 in the row of 12), with wing margin at left, used on fragment of piece, with central ‘23’ numeral of Matara. Both stamps with unobtrusive creases, blue crayon line between and the upper stamp with wing margin partly torn away, nevertheless a remarkable item of good appearance and of the utmost importance and rarity.
