1852-57 3d red 'Beaver', on medium machine-made wove, horizontal pair with mostly large to very large margins, the left stamp with major re-entry (upper pane, R5/7), lightly used with part target cancels in BLUE which leave the re-entry completely clear. A stunning example of this popular variety, and very scarce so fine. SG 18/b, £1,950
