1840-1900 selection of postal history written up on pages in an envelope including: 1840 ship letter sent from Perth, Scotland, “via Liverpool” to Canada, 1841-51 2d blue on cover (2), 1852 entire sent from Rio de Janeiro via Southampton to Reims, France, bearing a ‘Packet Letter/Southampton’ mark in black, 1854 cover to Exeter with Montreal cds for MY 15 and backstamped with a green ‘pkt. letter/Liverpool’ tombstone for MY 28', 1857 pair of 6d lilacs on cover to Agra, India, “Via Marseilles”, cancelled by London cds for JU 17 61, 1857 6d lilac on mourning cover to Mauritius “Via Southampton and Calcutta” cancelled by Ashford duplex for AU 19 62, 1857 1s green on cover cancelled by Newcastle-on-Tyne duplex for JA 24 1859 to France,
