1890(?) 2a Essays for Printing the Stamps by Lithography group including: vermilion on yellowish wove paper with ‘Specimen.’ printed on reverse (Spence 21), sage green on yellowish wove paper (Spence 22), yellow green on yellowish wove paper (Spence 23), orange red type D1 (2, Spence 24) and type D2 (3, Spence 25), brownish red type D1 and D2, both with ‘P’ of ‘SPECIMEN’ on reverse (Spence 26 & 27), sage green type D1 on yellowish pelure paper (2, Spence 28) and type D2 yellow green on yellowish pelure paper (4, Spence 29). The odd fault but chiefly fine. Spence 21/29. (16).
