1911 (DE 16) German South Polar expedition picture postcard depicting Expeditionschiff "Deutschland" addressed to Berlin, franked on reverse by Falkland Is 1904-12 1d vermilion tied by type SG1 cds, with the red perforated expedition label tied by superb strike of the four-line violet cachet "Polarschiff Deutschland / Sud-Georgian / Grytviken / 10 Dezember 1911". Minor imperfections (And exhibition label folded over the top of the card), still attractive and very scarce with such a fine strike of the cachet.
