1894-1902 the complete series of 24 'SPECIMEN' examples from the record sheets preserved in the BW printer's archive, all different printings, each with small type B3 'SPECIMEN.' H/S (12x1.5mm) in violet, comprising ½d x 5, 1d x 6 (three with reversed wmk), 2d x 2, 2½d x 4 (incl prussian blue), 4d x 2 (incl brownish black with reversed wmk), 6d yellow, 9d x 2 and 1s x2, all very fine without gum (as always) and numbered in pencil on reverse. Lovely fresh colours, with sixteen marginal examples. A marvellous reference, and now very rarely available.. (Heijtz cat £2,400+).
