Description
1902 (Feb) ½a yellow-green, type 10 'UGANDA' opt on B.E.A., horizontal strip of 6 with side margins showing part inscriptions confirming row 3 of a sheet, the overprint with distinctive broken final 'A' (pos. 3 from the column of 5 setting), the second stamp ERROR OPT DOUBLE, fresh part to large part o.g. Folded perfs with some sensible reinforcement, still very fine and most attractive in this ideal positional form. A great rarity, being one of only ten recorded examples, five from the second column of one half-sheet (as here) and five from the fifth column of another.
