Description
1894-97 mint and used collection on pages, including 1894 ‘¼ ANNA’ rose, good to large margins, unused. (defective, creases, stains etc, SG 1 cat £5000), 1897 inscribed ‘ANNA’ issue with ¼a magenta shade (SG 5 cat £180), the other listed shades, ½a purple with unused block of 8 (2x4, SG 6), 1a blue-green and 1a turquoise-blue shades and blocks, 2a with shades from blue-green to indigo, 4a similarly represented, the ½a (SG 5b) and 2a (SG 8) unused examples with papermaker's seals depicting an elephant, the ¼a in complete sheet of 24 with pos. 1 showing the seal. Impressions on assorted coloured papers of trial/proof status. 1902-04 numerals changed issue, with ¼a reconstructed block of 12 (4x3, three vertical pairs) showing "Mercantile Script, Extra Strong, John Haddon & Co'' papermaker's watermark, and other blocks with complete sheet of 30 impressions. (SG 10), the 1a, 2a and 4a values with 4a green unused (SG 14 cat £40), postal stationery with ¼a postcards (with reply cards) and ½a envelopes. Mixed condition with fine. SG 1-14
