JOHN’S N.F.' notepaper) reads ‘Posted at St Johns Newfoundland June the tenth nineteen hundred and nineteen- for transmission by Vickers Vimy Aeroplane. Capt J Alcock DSC Pilot. Lieut A. W. Brown Navigator’, signed by the addressee with subsequent endorsement ‘Landed in Ireland/1890 miles in 15hrs 57min’. Trivial imperfections (part of opening flap cut away), still a particularly attractive and neat example. One of only 196 covers flown on this historic flight. SG 143 (priced £3000 on flown cover).
