<p>Two 1859 incoming covers from England, the first from Exeter on MR 18 franked pair 1d and defective 4d, endorsed “By India & China Mail/ via Southampton", reverse with London transit and Hong Kong Paid arrival of MY 9, a second cover from Ilfracombe on Oc 23 with endorsement reading “via Marseilles” franked defective 6d and three 1d (one folded onto other side) showing two strikes of red framed DEFICIENT POSTAGE/ BRITISH SHARE OF FINE, the bottom example with manuscript charge of “3” added to each line, arrival cds of DE 6; an interesting pair in somewhat distressed condition.</p>
