1883 Overseas mail. Very fine single rate cover to Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope prepaid by a 6d on 6d Lilac Pl.18 lettered SJ showing the "Sloping dots" variety. Neatly tied by a crisp Birmingham squared circle for MY.24.1883 clear of variety, with a Dartmouth receiving cds for the 25th and a Cape Town arrival cds on reverse for JU.13.1883. Lovely quality and a difficult variety to find on cover.
