POSTAL HISTORY: 1899 collection of four covers and one wrapper all salvaged from the wreck of ‘’S.S. Labrador'', which hit Mackenzie Rock of the Hebrides in thick fog, including: Canada 1ct green postcard with boxed ‘Damaged by Immersion in Sea Water’ h/s, post office sealing tape with impression of adhesive, marked in m/s ‘Saved from the wreck of Labrador’, cover franked by Canada 2ct Imperial Penny Postage, cover to London with stamps floated off and cover to Norfolk, franked by 1897 2ct King Edward with two lined ‘Recovered From Wreak of SS Labrador’ h/s, an interesting and scarce group.
