Description
1887-92 10d dull purple and carmine, mint and used examples, from setting 1 with vertical lined blocks in the margin, the mint example is lower marginal with large part o.g. and a couple of short perfs and adherences on the reverse affecting the margin only, the used example is upper left marginal and shows the purple rule cut away at the corner, used by registered cds, slightly soiled and light marginal creases, nevertheless, these faults are trivial as Wiseman states that this setting is “probably the rarest of all the settings of the 1887 issue”, and especially so used and positional. Wiseman rarity L. SG 210.
Footnote
N.B. mint example is Ex "Royal Palm", used is Ex Lady Mairy Bury and is the only example to not show the vertical purple bar in the left margin.
