1887-92 “Jubilee” 9d marginal setting set of two sunken die proofs, the head plate proof endorsed 'DIVISION LEAD OF THE OUTER LINE.' with marginal line in black and set wide and the duty plate proof with marginal line in red set close and endorsed ‘THE RED TO BE MADE UP BY CUTTING THE EDGE ON THE DIVIDISION LEADS OF THE INNER LINE DOWN TO THE SAME PLANE AS THE LINE.’ with an additional 9d as issued alongside with marginal line added in blue ink. Both dated ‘August 19th. 87.’ and initialled ‘WWR’ (William Warren De La Rue). Believed to be a unique set of instructions to the composing room for the divisional leads of the marginal rules.
