Description
1887-92 4d green and purple-brown, lower right corner marginal strip of three from marginal setting 4A, mint, large part to unmounted o.g., with a few light tones, and fold between the middle and right stamp, of little importance as this is believed to be the only extant example of this setting, with lined blocks, continuous rules, and thin green and brown lines added to sheet margin between the left and right halves of the 320 mill sheet, only affecting eight of the sixteen panes, and only sixteen of the sixty four corners on the 320 mill sheet. This setting comes from a partial run of the 7th, 80 set printing and represents approximately 0.7% of the total print run. Believed to be unique and the only example that we can recall handling. A wonderful exhibition piece and an important “Jubilee” rarity. SG 205var.
