<p>1887-92 2d stamp-sized die proofs for the Head Plate and the Duty Plate, printed in black on white glazed card, mounted to DLR striking book pieces (Head Plate: 51x25mm, Duty Plate: 50x27mm), the former with m/s ‘Mar 11’ and ‘1886 2d Die’ in red, the latter ‘Aug 13/240 Leads’ and faintly struck through in red ink. The Head Plate proof with a tiny fault at upper left, otherwise a fine and desirable pair. For SG 199, <i>from </i>£2,900.</p>
